Things to do in Fort Fun
Take a Tour of Aaron's favorite brewery. Aaron and Celeste have both done it a couple times, and they drag everyone who comes to town through it at least once. It's really fun. New Belgium is a very eco-friendly company, who derives all of their plant's power from a wind farm in Wyoming, and from methane collection off of its own waste products. After the tour there is a free tasting of all their current beers. It's a lot of fun.
Horsetooth Reservoir is well.. a reservoir. It's a 10 mile long lake about a mile west of Fort Collins. It's a nice place to go for a swim, and there are lots of hiking trails in the surrounding area.
Horsetooth Rock is a big rock formation above Fort Collins. It's so popular that it's kind of become 'iconic' of the town. If you climb to the top (about an hour and a half one way) you can see for miles and miles.
Like bad.. er... traditional.. beer and big horses? a budweiser brewery tour might be just up your alley! Smell the hops! Sip the water!(i mean beer), Pat a horse! I really don't know much about this one because i've never been.
Fort Fun has mini golf, go carts, laser tag, bumper boats and video games. It's a blast for the youngins, of which I include Celeste and myself.
Downtown Collins (Old Town in local speak) has lots of shopping and dining establishments and a pretty good nightlife. Elliot's Martini bar is one of our favorites, as is the Crown Pub.
New West Fest happens to fall on the day after the wedding. It's a big craft fair they throw in downtown. It might be worth a look if you're still in town.
